Bacon in Toasted Baps

A traditional favourite - Bacon cooked on the shovel. These are ideal to share with your crew of Fireman, Guard, Signalman keeping one for yourself.

Preparation method

  1. Split the buns in half and hang over convinent taps in the cab.
  2. Warm the shovel in the fire for a few seconds and then wipe with a clean cloth to remove the coal dust.
  3. Place the bacon on the shovel and hold above the fire until cooked - turn every now and again - cook to taste.
  4. Place the bacon in the baps.
