Firstly, Cut of the connector from the USB Socket, and strip back

Next, strip cut the new extension lead and stri[ back the outer plastic leaving the braid exposed.

Now strip off most of the braid, just leaving a little bit behind, twist that together.

Now cut back the inner cores, leave the yellow one short but not too short, strip and tin the remaining connectors.

Do the same to the USB Cable.

Solder the wires together, green to green, red to red etc.If you dont have the same colours, then ummm... I dont know!

Put tape around each of the cores, and then tape it all together, leave the braid to one side for now.

Finally solder the braid together, use a decent amount of solder so that the connection has some strength and put a final covering of tape on the cable.
